Amaretto Sour

It was our 2nd or 3rd lock down, we had lost count by then. Our weekends and week days started blurring into one. Our lives looked something like this: Work, 2 hour walk, Netflix/stan/apple tv (whatever we could get, we subscribed to them all), occasional Karaoke sessions, sleep. REPEAT. 

Then, one day, we discovered it. On one of our many walks we decided we needed to spice up our exercise routine and stopped at a bar that was selling take away cocktails (in coffee cups ofcourse). That’s where it all begun. We had one sip and we were hooked. 

Now whenever we go out, that is the first thing we order. – Dilani


  • 50mL amaretto
  • 30mL lemon juice
  • 15mL sugar syrup
  • Dash Angostura Bitters
  • 1 egg white
  • Maraschino cherry, to garnish
  • Lemon wedge, to garnish
  • Ice


  1. Add amaretto, lemon juice, sugar syrup and an egg white to the shaker
  2. Shake for 20 seconds
  3. Fill the shaker three quarters full with ice and shake again for 20 seconds
  4. Strain into a glass with ice
  5. Add a dash of bitters on top
  6. Garnish with lemon wedge, and maraschino cherry
